Product Introduction
Dulbecco's Modified Eagle′s Medium (DMEM) is a modification of Basal Medium Eagle (BME) that contains four times the concentration of amino acids and vitamins. The original formulation contained 1000 mg/L of glucose and was used to culture mouse embryonic cells. At present, DMEM medium is available in a variety of formulations, including low sugar (1000mg/L)/high sugar (4500mg/L)/no sugar, and a variety of formulations with or without sodium pyruvate/L-glutamine, etc., to support the primary culture of mouse and chicken cells, as well as a variety of normal and transformed cells. DMEM medium uses a sodium bicarbonate (3700 mg/L) buffer system to maintain physiological pH at 5–10% CO2 ambient conditions.
Product Application
DMEM low-glucose medium is more suitable for the culture of slow-metabolizing, dependent adherent cells.
